Renovation Timelines: What to Expect for High-End Projects

One of the most common questions we hear from homeowners is: ‘How long will this take?’ It’s a fair question — and one that deserves an honest, detailed answer rather than an optimistic guess.

For a kitchen renovation, expect 8–12 weeks of active construction, plus 4–6 weeks of pre-construction design and ordering. Custom cabinetry alone often requires 6–8 weeks of lead time from order to delivery. Natural stone countertops add another 2–3 weeks for templating and fabrication.

Bathroom renovations typically run 4–8 weeks depending on scope. A straightforward fixtures-and-finishes update moves faster, while a full reconfiguration with structural changes, custom tile work, and specialty fixtures extends the timeline.

Whole-home renovations are the most variable, ranging from 4–8 months depending on the home’s size, condition, and the extent of changes. Homes requiring significant structural modification, full systems updates (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), or complex phasing to allow continued occupancy will trend toward the longer end.

Our best advice: plan for the longer estimate and be pleasantly surprised if we finish early. Rushed timelines inevitably compromise quality — and quality is the one thing you can’t retrofit.
