Bryan Buck

My interest in building started as a child where, as the son of a single mother, I often found myself responsible for fixing things around the house. I discovered that not only did it come natural to me but, most importantly, I really enjoyed it and it gave me a sense of pride and contribution to my family. My interest would continue throughout my teens and during my college years working in various trades, flipping houses and internships. My continued success over the course of this time led me to pursue construction as a profession. After graduatinng from East Carolina University with a degree in Construction Management, I moved to Charleston, South Carolina where I quickly found my calling in the world of custom luxury home building. I was absolutely blessed to find myself learning from some of the greatest builders and minds in the industry. One niche in particular that quickly grabbed my attention was that of fine finish carpentry. I immersed myself in it and took every opportunity that I could to perfect my skillset. It was during this process that I discovered my passion for the craft and developed a deep respect for it. The precision and detailed approach that was required in order to achieve the desired results presented such a challenge that I simply could not turn down. I began to approach every aspect of building with that same mindset, each time striving for excellence and the greater the level of difficulty the more intriguing the build. Years later, I decided to change course and move back to North Carolina to be closer to family where I transitioned away from residential contracting and into the world of commercial construction. Shortly after returning to Eastern NC while cheering on the Pirates at an ECU football game, I met my now wife and several years later we decided to plant our roots in my family's hometown of Washington, NC. Even though our home had "good bones" as most would say, we knew we needed to renovate in order to accommodate our expanding family. It was during our own home remodel that I found my way back to my true passion of residential constructon and custom carpentry and I could not ignore the desire to pursue it professionally any longer. I was confident that I could provide a positive experience for other homeowners so after a decade in the commercial construction industry, Reliance Building Group was formed.
